Blue and Gold

Well, staying on the East Coast, but moving up to Boston.  I attended the American Academy of Optometry conference in conjunction with my photography trip… 😉  I knew I wanted to shoot at the Christian Science Center, but really hadn’t researched where it was in relation to my hotel.  Well, I was pleasantly surprised when the cabbie drove right past it then stopped about 2 blocks later at the Hilton!  I checked in, grabbed some gear and headed out.  I wanted to grab the reflection of the dome, but with the wind, it would have been nearly impossible to make it out.  I slapped on the 10 stop for some exposures, but wasn’t overly thrilled with them, so I waited until blue hour and narrowed my aperture to get a nice long exposure.  I have a couple of other ND filters on order, so hopefully I will get some better results around sunset…  I was happy with the reflection, but the clouds and light bursts were just the icing on the cake!

Everyone else has already commented on the colors and I can’t add anything different, so I will mention the perspective. I love the angle off of the water you are shooting from. While a familiar type of scene, the lower angle really changes the perspective just enough to keep my eyes from wandering out of the scene.
